Army of Scalemates for April 13th

Woo! Finished my first major Homestuck project just in the nick of time for April 13^th! See my assembled army of all 34 players in scalemate form.

With the exception of the eyes and Porrim’s tattoos, every thing these guys was made out of thread, fleece, and stuffing.

At some point I’m going to go back and fix some up a bit, or in the case of the Makara’s actually finish them (motherfucking horns man), as well as things like making a fuck ton of glasses, and capes for certain people.

P.S. One of my favorite things about them is I have enough for a good pile to lie in.

Vivian was hanging out with me while Leanna took a shower and I managed to capture her being unbearably cute.

So look, at Otakon, Matt came up to me and presented me with a completely child-safe plushie for Vivian.

Once I had pulled myself together and stopped hugging him, I promised I would get some video of when Vivian got it.

Today I gave it to her right before we got ready to take her six month photo. Clearly she loves it.

Thank you again so much, Matt. I can’t express how much it means to me that you made this for my little girl.

Here are the scalemates I was talking about before! As I said, they are for the Sparklestuck II gift exchange.

The Prospit scalemate is named Regulator Lemonpie, while the Derse scalemate is named Agent Jamsnout. Regulator Lemonpie is made of normal fleece, while Agent Jamsnout is made of micro-fleece. Jamsnout is slightly smaller because of that. Both are stuffed with polyfil, have plastic buttons for eyes, and are hand-sewn.

I found a new way to properly put in symbols, too! Turns out if I add some liquid stitch and glue them down, then sew them, they turn out much better and don’t get all wonky. Good stuff!
